Paulajean O'Neill

Paulajean with Carmalita and Chico

Paulajean has been riding since she was a child.  She has gone from ponies and trail horses in the 1950's to riding saddleseat in the 1960's. After focusing on riding hunters in the 1970's, she started her own hunter barn, Wild Wind Stable in Marlborough, MA.  After moving to Maine in 1979, Paulajean established New Boston Farm.

During her 30 year professional career with horses, Paulajean founded Maine Therapeutic Riding, a non-profit organization which provides riding as therapy and recreation to people with disabilities. She also organized the Bates College Intercollegiate Riding team which she coached for several years.

Paulajean is a USEF judge in Hunters and Hunter Seat Equitation, as well as a NEHC Judge and Steward and is very active in the horse show world. Her team of students compete at shows in Maine and elsewhere in New England. In addition to managing the four New Boston Farm shows, Paulajean is currently President of Maine Horse Association (MHA) and Secretary of the New England Horsemen's Council.
